for the BEST in the NORTH WEST...
Grant Arms Hotel, situated in the old Market Place of
Ramsbottom was originally built as a house known as Top
O'th Brow and was occupied by Henry Warren a partner of
Robert Peel. Later the Grant family occupied the house
and named it Grant Lodge. The scope of the building at
the time was limited to that portion now occupied by the
restaurant. The building became a
hotel in 1828 and the new frontage was added in 1852 along
with the clock inscribed with that date. The jazz evening
takes place on the second floor with ground level access
from the right hand side of the building. The second
Sunday of the month also sees the Farmers Market outside
the Grants and at the Civic Hall next door. Visit
www.ramsbottom.net for
more details.
